2025 traffic fines announced! How much of an increase is expected in the new year?
The revaluation rate for 2025 has been finalized at 43.93 percent, which will lead to significant increases in many areas, from traffic fines to highway tolls. While the fine for violations such as running a red light or using a mobile phone will rise to 2,167 TL, the fine for drifting will increase to 46,392 TL. According to TUIK data, the domestic producer price index (D-PPI) increased by 43.93 percent based on the 12-month average.
In 2025, items such as traffic fines, highway and bridge toll fees will be increased in direct proportion to this rate.
FINE FOR RUNNING A RED LIGHT AND TALKING ON THE PHONE
With the new year, the fine for running a red light or talking on a mobile phone while driving will rise to 2,167 TL.

The fines for violations such as exceeding speed limits and "weaving through traffic," which poses a danger on the road, have also increased. The fine for weaving through traffic has been set at 9,267 TL.
With these hikes, raising traffic fines to a more deterrent level in 2025 aims to encourage drivers to be more careful.
