THEY MOVED TO ISTANBUL AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE
Her uncle, Ali Hanilçi, expressed to reporters that they were deeply saddened by the incident.
Stating that they want the incident to not go unpunished, Hanilçi explained that Şirin was killed in a horrific manner and that they want those who kill children like Şirin and Narin to be punished in the harshest way possible.
Expressing that they are very sorrowful, Hanilçi said, "All of our hearts are burning; there is nothing else to say. They migrated to Istanbul after the earthquake. There was an earthquake, there was a flood disaster, they couldn't hold on here, so they migrated to Istanbul. It is as if they escaped the rain only to be caught in a hailstorm. Condolences to Turkey; both Narin and Şirin are children of Turkey. May we all have our condolences."
Her other uncle, Çetin Hanilçi, stated that they are still in shock over the incident, saying, "We do not want such incidents to happen. She was brutally murdered in Istanbul. We believe in and trust our state. We want this perpetrator to receive the harshest punishment. We expect such child murders to never happen again and for these incidents to be prevented."
