69 million TL payment scandal involving Ebru Gündeş! Ankara Metropolitan Municipality refutes claims via SMS

AK Party Ankara Deputy Osman Gökçek sent an SMS containing the claim that a 69 million TL payment was made by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for Ebru Gündeş's October 29 Republic Day concert.

Following Gökçek's message, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality used the same channel to deny the allegations.

In the message Gökçek sent to the residents of Ankara, the claim “Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş spent 69 million Turkish Liras on the Ebru Gündeş concert using the emergency procurement method” was included.

In response to this claim, the text message sent by the municipality rejected Gökçek's statements.

The message sent by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality included the following statements:

“Dear fellow citizen, AK Party Ankara Deputy Osman Gökçek has claimed that 69 million TL was spent on the Ebru Gündeş concert as part of the October 29 Republic Day events.

This is a complete lie and slander. Not even 1 lira has been spent for the concert. The corruption of the old era has ended in this period.”

The message further stated that there were no payments made for the events Gökçek alleged, noting that the work had not yet been invoiced, and added, “Upon the instruction of Mayor Mansur Yavaş, an investigation has been launched into the matter. No payment will be made until the review is completed.”
