Adana earthquake causes panic! Naci Görür highlights the risks

A 5.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Kozan district of Adana. The earthquake took place at around 20:07 and occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers.

Following the tremor, which was felt in Osmaniye, Gaziantep, and Kayseri as well as Adana, some citizens took to the streets in panic.

After the 5.0 magnitude earthquake in Adana, the statements previously made by Naci Görür came to mind.

HE HAD WARNED ABOUT ADANA!

Prof. Dr. Naci Görür, one of Turkey's leading earthquake experts, had stated that Adana is one of the cities carrying earthquake risk and emphasized that those living in this region should be cautious.

Görür stated that branches of the East Anatolian Fault are located in this region and that energy transfers could trigger an earthquake in this area.

Stating that Adana is connected to the East Anatolian Fault due to its location, Görür said that this situation poses a risk.

Görür made a statement on his social media account following the earthquake that occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers in Adana.

Görür said, "A 5.0 earthquake occurred in Minnetli-Kozan/Adana. It is in the Minnetli-Göksun-Yakapınar fault zone. This zone is related to the Çardak Fault, which produced an earthquake on February 6, meaning it is the continuation of the EAF in the Adana Basin. We had said that the EAF was loaded with stress during the February 6 earthquakes and that earthquakes could occur."
