The seismic activity that began in the Aegean Sea on January 28 continues to increase. The earthquakes, which are felt primarily on the island of Santorini as well as on Turkey's Aegean coast, are causing panic.
The latest tremor, recorded at 16:04, caused alarm. AFAD announced the magnitude as 5.2, while the Kandilli Observatory reported the magnitude of the earthquake as 5.3.
The earthquake, recorded at a depth of 7 kilometers, relatively close to the surface, has further escalated the intense concern in the region.
