Affecting millions of retirees: Are holiday bonuses increasing to 10,000 TL? A notable prediction has emerged

Statements continue to emerge regarding the 2025 holiday bonuses that retirees are eagerly awaiting.

Following the recent raises in pension payments, all eyes have turned to the Ramadan Feast bonuses expected to be deposited into accounts at the end of March.

The holiday bonuses, paid twice a year, closely concern millions of retirees under the SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Emekli Sandığı systems.

Social Security Expert Emin Yılmaz emphasized that an increase should be made to the bonuses to meet the expectations of retirees.

In his statement, Emin Yılmaz pointed out the importance of re-evaluating the bonuses due to inflation reducing purchasing power.

Reminding that when holiday bonuses were first introduced, 1,000 TL was enough to purchase a small sacrificial animal, Yılmaz stated that this figure has become insufficient over the years due to inflation, saying, "The purchasing power of money has fallen. Therefore, an update to the bonuses is inevitable."

WILL BONUSES RISE TO 10,000 TL?

Suggesting that there could be a record increase in bonuses in 2025, Yılmaz stated, "A potential regulation is directly related to economic balances. Taking into account inflation data and losses in purchasing power, it is estimated that bonuses could reach a level between 7,500 and 10,000 TL."
