AKOM announces: Siberian cold is leaving Istanbul!

The Siberian cold that has been affecting Istanbul for days is leaving the region. Temperatures will rise again and return to seasonal norms.

According to the weekly weather forecast report from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM), the weather across the city will be partly cloudy and clear on Tuesday, February 25. Temperatures will reach up to 7 degrees during the day.

The temperature is expected to be 6 degrees in the evening and 5 degrees at night. While humidity is expected to range between 45-70%, the wind is forecast to blow from the south-southwest (lodos) and south (kıble) directions, light to moderate in strength (5-20 km/h).

SIBERIAN COLD IS LEAVING

With the Siberian-originated cold air that has been affecting Istanbul dissipating, it is estimated that temperatures will increase to seasonal norms and the arrival of spring (cemre) will be noticeably felt.

Until the middle of March, temperatures are expected to be around seasonal norms or 1-3°C below, with generally spring-like weather prevailing.

Thursday, February 27: Low 5°C, high 12°C

Friday, February 28: Local rain expected, temperatures between 5-10°C
