AKP front discusses polls: Bad news for the government from 6 polling companies! The İmamoğlu effect has been observed
While support demonstrations are being held across Turkey for Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested on March 23, the averages of the polls conducted so far have reached the AKP front. Here are the results of the research conducted by 6 polling companies...
CHP's presidential candidate, Union of Municipalities of Türkiye and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, was arrested on March 23 after being detained as part of an ongoing investigation.
The cancellation of İmamoğlu's diploma, followed by his detention and arrest, sparked reactions from broad segments of society both in Istanbul and across the country.
SARAÇHANE CALL: "TO THE DEMOCRACY SQUARES"
Following his arrest, İmamoğlu issued a written statement calling on the public. Urging people to "cast your vote, and raise your voice by meeting in Saraçhane and in the democracy squares of our other provinces," İmamoğlu drew attention to the importance of democratic reactions.
THE PUBLIC TOOK TO THE STREETS, SUPPORT PROTESTS SPREAD
Following İmamoğlu's call, thousands of citizens took to the streets in many cities, especially in Istanbul. While high-participation rallies were held in Saraçhane Square, university students also organized marches from campuses to the rally areas.
Many university students were subjected to police violence during the protests, and some were detained and arrested.
NOTABLE RISE IN POLLS
The reaction that formed in public opinion following İmamoğlu's arrest has also been reflected in political trends. Poll results that have come to the agenda on social media and in political circles in recent days show that the CHP is on the rise.
The results of 6 different public opinion surveys, which have also been brought to the agenda by some figures such as AKP's Şamil Tayyar, are as follows:
Piar: CHP 31.5% – AKP 29.6%
Betimar: CHP 32.5% – AKP 30.6%
Sonar: CHP 36.6% – AKP 30.4%
Di-En: CHP 34.6% – AKP 28%
Ankara: CHP 33.7% – AKP 26.7%
Alf: CHP 32.1% – AKP 30.7%
When the average of these polls is taken, the picture becomes clear:
CHP: 33.5%
AKP: 29.45%
POLL DEBATE IN AKP CIRCLES
It has been stated that these polls have created a serious agenda, especially within the ruling party's circles. AKP circles are discussing that İmamoğlu's arrest has backfired and created a wave of sympathy for the opposition in public opinion.
