Alarming fire in school canteen
A fire that broke out in the early hours of the morning in the Körfez district of Kocaeli engulfed a primary school canteen in flames. The fire was brought under control with only material damage reported.
According to the information obtained, a fire broke out at approximately 05:30 in the canteen of Mimar Sinan Primary School, located on Burç Street in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood. A citizen living in the building across from the school noticed the flames while on their balcony and reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon the report, fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was brought under control by the fire department teams.
Most of the food items inside the steel prefabricated canteen were burned.
An investigation into the fire has been initiated.
