Ankara Governor's Office issues warning: Severe storm on the way!

A last-minute warning has been issued to citizens by the Ankara Governor's Office. The statement from the Governor's Office reported that strong winds and short-term storms are expected in the capital.

Citizens were warned to "be careful and take precautions against potential negative consequences."

Based on data received from the General Directorate of Meteorology's Analysis and Forecasting Center, the Ankara Governor's Office issued an important weather warning for Saturday, May 10, 2025.

The statement reported that starting from midday, strong winds blowing from the west and southwest at speeds of 40-60 km/h are expected around Ankara.

Furthermore, it was stated that short-term local storms with speeds of 60-85 km/h may occur. Authorities emphasized that citizens should be careful and take precautions against potential negative consequences such as transportation disruptions, roof damage, and fallen trees.

The meteorological warning will begin on May 10, 2025, at 12:00 PM and will continue until 8:00 PM on the same day.
