Another country has declared national mourning regarding the fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya Ski Center. Flags have been lowered to half-mast in memory of the 76 people who lost their lives.

Another country has declared national mourning. In the TRNC, flags were also lowered to half-mast for the 76 people who lost their lives.
The decision for national mourning taken by the Council of Ministers was published in the Official Gazette of the TRNC.
The decision stated, "The Council of Ministers has decided to declare a National Day of Mourning in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, starting from January 22, 2025, until sunset, due to the loss of life and injuries of many people as a result of the fire in Bolu Kartalkaya."
6 public prosecutors and 4 chief inspectors have been assigned to the incident.
So far, 9 people, including the hotel operator, have been taken into custody.
The government declared 1 day of national mourning.
