Attention credit card users: The deadline is December 31!

Some of the reward points accumulated on credit and debit cards expire at the end of the year.

Consumer associations have called for both the use of these points and the removal of time restrictions placed on them.

Aziz Koçal, Deputy Chairman of the Consumer Confederation (TÜKON), argued that points accumulated on cards should not be deleted under any circumstances.

Responding to questions from AA, Koçal stated that points should be usable regardless of time limits.

In his speech, Koçal stated: "Restricting the validity period of reward points or deleting them is clearly contrary to consumer rights and leads to a loss of trust in the financial system."

Calling on the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) to take action, Koçal said, "My advice to consumers is to check their accumulated points.

Aydın Ağaoğlu, Chairman of the Consumer Confederation (TÜKONFED), also stated that reward points accumulated on credit cards are a vested right of consumers.

Stating that the dates when points will be deleted should be specified, especially at the beginning of a campaign, Ağaoğlu said that if no information is provided on this matter, consumers can apply to consumer arbitration committees.

"Consumers can learn whether the points accumulated in the bank will be deleted by checking their mobile applications. My advice to consumers is to check their accumulated points.
