Attention drivers! You may be required to renew your license every 3 years
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has updated the age limit for the use of commercial vehicles. According to the new regulation, individuals at that age will lose their commercial vehicle driving licenses.
The regulation, which came into effect in December 2023, will determine the age limit for commercial vehicle drivers until the end of 2024. This decision was made to balance the increased trade volume and driver shortages following the pandemic. Furthermore, the requirement for drivers engaged in commercial transport to hold a professional competence certificate remains in effect.
Thus, it is emphasized that drivers who exceed the age limit must meet not only physical requirements but also professional competency standards.
DRIVING LICENSES MUST BE RENEWED EVERY 3 MONTHS
There are also additional regulations for drivers over the age of 65. Drivers in this age group are required to renew their driver's licenses every three years.
For drivers reaching the age of 80, this renewal period will be reduced to two years, and they will be required to undergo more frequent health checks and driving proficiency tests. These measures are being implemented to enhance the safety of elderly drivers and minimize potential risks in traffic.
