Attention those getting married: A new era has begun in the 'marriage loan' program

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that a new phase has been reached in the "Family and Youth Fund" project, stating that they have begun accepting applications for the fund from couples who meet the criteria in Karabük, Bartın, and Zonguldak, the provinces with the lowest fertility rates nationwide.

In a statement to reporters, Göktaş stated that they are supporting young people in establishing families through the Family and Youth Fund, which was created with the vision of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Reminding that they have launched the pilot implementation of the project in the earthquake-affected region, specifically in Adıyaman, the İslahiye and Nurdağı districts of Gaziantep, as well as Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya, Göktaş stated that the interest-free loan support of 150 thousand liras for young couples, with a 48-month maturity and a 2-year grace period, has received significant attention.

Reminding that applications for the project began on February 15 via the "www.aile.gov.tr" website, Göktaş stated, "To date, 12 thousand 132 couples have applied to the Family and Youth Fund, and a total of 3 thousand 963 couples who met the requirements have benefited from the loan in question so far."

Announcing that they have entered a new phase in the Family and Youth Fund and have launched the second part of the project's pilot implementation, Göktaş said, "According to TUIK data, we have included Karabük, Bartın, and Zonguldak, where the fertility rate is the lowest, in the Family and Youth Fund. We have started accepting applications from our couples in these 3 provinces who meet the requirements."

Emphasizing that they have eased the conditions so that more couples can benefit from the support in addition to the newly added provinces, Göktaş stated that a regulation has been made regarding the requirement that the total income of the couples applying for the support must not exceed 2 minimum wages.

Stating that they have made a new regulation regarding the income criteria based on feedback from the field and citizens' requests within the scope of the pilot application, Göktaş said, "We are increasing the income criteria to 2.3 times the minimum wage, including the additional payments that individuals may receive. Thus, we are paving the way for more of our young people to benefit from our support."
