Ayşenur and İkbal were brutally murdered: Women searched for these on Google to defend themselves after the incident

Most recently, two more women were taken from life by Semih Çelik in Istanbul's Fatih district. 

Recent incidents of sexual assault and violence against women have further heightened women's concerns. 

The process that began with the murder of police officer Şeyda Yılmaz by repeat offender Yunus Emre Geçti continued with a sexual assault in Beyoğlu.

It has emerged that in the incident in Fatih, Semih Çelik first murdered Ayşenur Halil in Eyüpsultan. 

Half an hour later, the video of İkbal Uzuner and the killer's suicide appeared on social media.

While the footage caused public outrage in a short time, a publication ban was issued for the images. 

Following the footage, it was observed that women conducted certain searches on the search engine Google to defend themselves. 

An increase has been observed in searches for terms such as 'electroshock', 'defense tools', 'pepper spray', and 'is it a crime to carry pepper spray?'.

It was also observed that searches peaked on Friday.
