Brad Friedel responds to commission allegations
Brad Friedel, who recently parted ways with Beşiktaş, has responded sharply to the allegations against him. Denying the accusations leveled by Samet Aybaba, Friedel also addressed the claims regarding the transfer of Semih Kılıçsoy.
The former Board Advisor of the black-and-white club, Brad Friedel, made significant statements in an interview with HT Spor. Friedel said, "I hope all the truths are uncovered by the audit and shared with the public. I feel it is my duty to tell the truth to the Beşiktaş fans."
RESPONSE TO COMMISSION ALLEGATIONS
Categorically rejecting the allegations made against him by Samet Aybaba, Friedel stated that he did not receive any commission from any transfers and that all transfers were conducted by the committee. He said that the processes involving names like Joao Pedro and Muci Musrati had no connection to him.
NO OFFER FOR SEMİH
Addressing the claims regarding the transfer of Semih Kılıçsoy, Friedel stated, "No official offer for Semih ever came to the club. I also had nothing to do with match tactics. The media targeted me because I am a foreigner and did not provide benefits to anyone."
'A NEW MINDSET IS NEEDED'
Arguing that a serious change is needed for Beşiktaş's success in Europe, Friedel said, "I did not know Mr. Samet and I came here without knowing that our duties overlapped. Beşiktaş needed three transfer windows during this process."
'I AM AN OTTOMAN HISTORY GRADUATE'
Responding to the criticisms directed at him, the American football figure drew attention to his football career and education, saying the following:
"I played nearly 500 matches in the Premier League and 82 matches for the national team. I am an Ottoman history graduate. I learned the saying 'everyone with a mouth talks' here. I am not someone who would tarnish my name with illegal activities."
Expressing his discomfort with the constant creation of a crisis environment at Beşiktaş, Friedel concluded his words by saying, "Success does not come in an environment of chaos. Beşiktaş fans should support Mr. Hüseyin and his team."
