ÇEDES IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Criticism of ÇEDES continues. Serkan Bebek, General Education Secretary of the All Teachers Union (TÖB SEN), stated that the practice is unconstitutional. Bebek's assessments are as follows:

“ÇEDES is not an environment or values project. It is a project to bring students together with foundations and associations that include individuals opposed to secularism and Atatürkism, and to implement the government's political ideas through education via these foundations and associations. Our students are now being exploited through the issue of Palestine. ÇEDES is contrary to the Constitution and secularism. The place for imams and preachers is not the school.”
