CHP reacts to scheduling of Sıla baby and Narin cases on the same day

CHP Women's Branch Chair Asu Kaya reacted to the fact that both the Narin Güran case and the Baby Sıla case are scheduled for December 26, stating, "The government, fearing the loud voice of the opposition and the objections of the public, appears to have made this decision to divide the voice of the opposition."

Addressing Minister of Justice Tunç, Kaya said, "This decision you have made is a political decision, a political choice. With this decision you have made, you will not be able to divide the conscience of the public, nor will you be able to silence its voice. Turn back from this decision that wounds consciences. Do not undermine the search for justice for these two children."

In the remainder of her statement, Kaya used the following expressions:

"The AKP's perspective and its dulled conscience were reflected to millions from those microphones. We will continue to make the heavens and the earth shake. We will continue to question your silenced consciences. We will continue to be there with all our organizations wherever you commit an injustice. We will continue to seek the rights of all murdered children and women for whom you have failed to hold the killers accountable. Even if you schedule the hearings for our Narin and our Sıla on the same day, we will continue to make the heavens and the earth shake. Know this well: until all women can walk the streets in safety, and until all mothers no longer fear while their children are out on the streets, we will continue to make the heavens and the earth shake."
