Credit card limits have changed
According to a letter sent by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) to banks in April, limits for contactless credit card payments will increase.
A new regulation that will affect millions of citizens using credit and debit cards has come into effect today.
According to a letter sent by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) to banks in April, limits on contactless card payments will be increased.
With the decision, the contactless payment limit will be increased by 100 percent.
Accordingly, the decision to increase the contactless card payment limit for transactions without a PIN from 750 TL to 1500 TL has come into effect as of today.
The contactless transaction limit has been increased to 1,500 Turkish Lira as of today (Monday, July 1, 2024).
Thus, the contactless payment limit for transactions without a PIN, which allows payments to be made via cards and mobile devices without any contact, has been updated after 2 years.
In 2020, driven by the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, contactless payment methods came to the forefront, as consumer sensitivity toward hygiene increased the demand for secure payment methods.
