Cübbeli Ahmet's ISIS remarks: Allegation of an attack on Menzil! 'They have 2,000 associations'

Cübbeli Ahmet made statements regarding ISIS's association-building activities and action plans in Turkey in a statement he gave to the police in 2020. It was alleged that an attack set to take place in İzmir was prevented thanks to information provided to the police by Cübbeli Ahmet.

RAIDS ON ISIS CELLS CONTINUE

While raids by security forces against the terrorist organization ISIS have been ongoing in recent days, a striking detail regarding these operations emerged during a television program he attended.

Cübbeli Ahmet announced that during a meeting with the police in 2020, he provided critical information regarding ISIS's attack plan in İzmir.

CLAIM OF 2,000 ASSOCIATIONS

Cübbeli Ahmet made the following statement regarding ISIS's activities in Turkey:

“DAESH has formed associations in our country and poses a major threat. It is estimated that this terrorist organization has approximately 2,000 associations. Many of these associations, most of which were opened illegally, have prayer rooms on the terraces or in the basements of the buildings. The majority of these associations do not have official status, and therefore remain outside of oversight.”

THEY PLANNED AN ATTACK ON MENZIL

Stating that ISIS carries out its association-building activities particularly in places like libraries and coffeehouses, Cübbeli Ahmet added:

“When security units called me in, I presented the information with files I had prepared in advance. I learned that they were going to spray the lodge where Menzil performs dhikr in İzmir with gunfire, and I reported this to the police.”

Cübbeli Ahmet stated that ISIS members make threats to people such as 'The Turkish soldier is an infidel, your marriage is invalid, come and we will take you,' and noted that he presented these statements and documents to the authorities, using the following expressions: “ISIS members use phrases like, ‘We consider the Turkish soldier an infidel and they must be killed.’ I presented examples of printouts of these.”
