Deniz Akkaya responds to allegations: 'The person who needs treatment is...'

Last May, allegations emerged that former model Deniz Akkaya had physically abused her 16-year-old daughter.

Following the allegations, an investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The prepared indictment requested a prison sentence for Deniz Akkaya for the crime committed against her daughter.

It was alleged that Efe Önbilgin had filed a guardianship lawsuit against Akkaya.

"CUSTODY WAS GRANTED TO ME"

Following these developments, the former model made the following statement:

"As a mother who has won the custody case for my daughter not once, not twice, but three times, this team, which has completely overstepped the mark in the last one, claimed they received custody. No, this is a lie. Custody was granted to me. It is proven by official documents."

"THE COURT'S DECISION IS CLEAR"

Akkaya continued her statement as follows:

"The person whose accounts have been seized due to unpaid alimony for 16 years is the father, not me. Furthermore, I have been raising my daughter by myself for 16 years, everyone knows this. I repeat, the decision made by the court is clear with official documents.

Just like today, they spread drug allegations in full detail and had news reports written again, but the truth is, because we proved that the father is a high-level alcoholic, the forensic medicine department is waiting for him, and he is avoiding going to forensic medicine. This cannot be a lie; you can research and find it. I repeat, we have a court decision in our hands. However, we do not distribute documents because we comply with the confidentiality order."

"THE PERSON WHO NEEDS TREATMENT IS THE FATHER"

Akkaya said, "In short; the person who needs to be hospitalized for alcohol treatment is the father. We do not scatter documents around like these immoral people because there is confidentiality regarding the incident; we do not stray from the path of the law. The father will be hospitalized for alcohol treatment; for example, we did not see this detail in any news bulletin. Likewise, we did not serve it to them like these people do...

In recent days, the opposing party's lawyer, who signs off on irregular actions, claimed that they had issued an arrest warrant for me... Come and see, there is no court document that has not reached me. They held a court session by themselves and made a decision. Can such a thing happen, friends? We appealed, and our appeal was accepted," she said.

"CHARACTER ASSASSINATION IS BEING COMMITTED"

Deniz Akkaya concluded her words by saying, "We took the custody issue in this case, but because this woman could not achieve any legal success, character assassination is being committed against me, a famous woman. We will file a criminal complaint regarding her tomorrow, and the necessary actions will be taken. Likewise, I had previously complained because she used my daughter's photos without my permission; this time our complaint will be much more severe. None of the information I have provided is incorrect or incomplete."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Former model Deniz Akkaya had announced in a statement on her social media account that after discovering her daughter was making plans to go abroad without her knowledge after gaining access to her phone, she confiscated the phone, and that she was attacked by her daughter and locked herself on the balcony for 1.5 hours.

Following Akkaya's statements on the social media site about her daughter, the Ministry of Family and Social Services took action.

PLACED UNDER PROTECTION

After the assigned team carried out the necessary examinations and evaluations, the 16-year-old girl was placed under protection.

Akkaya had used the expression, "I gave her to the state to teach her a lesson," regarding the incident.

Upon this, Efe Önbilgin filed a lawsuit on May 29 for the custody of his child to be granted to him. In the announced decision, it was decided that Ayşe be handed over to her father, Efe Önbilgin.

The interim decision included statements that the request for temporary custody should be evaluated after the evidence is collected, taking into account the scope of the file.

I DID NOT GIVE UP CUSTODY OF MY CHILD"

Deniz Akkaya stated, "I did not give up custody of my child or anything like that. She is just going on a summer vacation with her father for the first time in 15 years. I gave permission for her to go on a summer vacation with her father." Deniz Akkaya's daughter, Ayşe, was later picked up by her father, Efe Önbilgin.
