A striking claim has emerged regarding 19-year-old perpetrator Semih Çelik, who murdered two young women in Istanbul before jumping from the city walls to take his own life.

It has been stated that after committing the first murder—killing Ayşenur Halil—Çelik called the police to turn himself in and left the house after leaving the key in the door. The question remains as to why he was not apprehended during the time between that incident and his meeting with İkbal Uzuner at the city walls.

In Istanbul's Fatih district, around 4:00 PM on Friday, Semih Çelik, who worked as a butcher on Fevzipaşa Street in the Derviş Ali neighborhood, murdered İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil.

Semih Çelik climbed onto the Edirnekapı walls, decapitated İkbal Uzuner, whom he had killed, and threw her head down. The murder suspect then put a rope around his neck and jumped from the walls, ending his own life.
