BEWARE OF ICING AND AVALANCHE DANGER!
The Turkish State Meteorological Service has warned citizens in regions with risks of icing and avalanches following the snowfall. It was stated that caution is required, especially in high-altitude areas, against disruptions in transportation, power outages, and the danger of avalanches.
Provinces with high risk of icing: Kayseri, Niğde, Erzincan, Sivas, Karaman
Regions with avalanche danger: High-altitude areas of the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia
ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE DECISION IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR
Numerous governor's offices have also decided on administrative leave for public employees. Personnel with disabilities, pregnant employees, those with chronic illnesses, and female employees with small children will be considered on leave for one day.
Additional measures have also been taken, particularly for students under the bussed education system.
HOW LONG WILL THE SNOWFALL LAST?
According to meteorological forecasts, heavy snowfall will continue to be effective in some regions until the weekend. Temperatures are expected to drop to sub-zero levels in the high-altitude areas of Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, and Eastern Anatolia.
Estimated warming date: Air temperatures are expected to rise between March 23-25.
