Enjoy autumn like this: The best places for camping
As a country that experiences all four seasons in their full beauty, Turkey has numerous camping routes. We have compiled the most suitable places for camping, from lakeside to forest interiors, and from mountains to valleys, that will warm the hearts of even those who do not like autumn.
Yedigöller - Bolu
As one of the first places that comes to mind when camping is mentioned, Yedigöller is bustling with visitors throughout every season of the year. Established in 1965, Yedigöller National Park consists of a total of seven lakes: Deringöl, Büyükgöl, Sazlıgöl, İncegöl, Nazlıgöl, Seringöl, and Küçükgöl. There are opportunities for camping around the lakes, and the campsites feature drinking water, prayer rooms, and kiosk-style mini-markets.
In the region, which lacks shower and internet facilities, electricity needs can be met from the prayer rooms and restrooms. Offering the opportunity to light controlled fires at certain hours among the beech trees, Yedigöller allows you to have a true camping experience with conversations held around the fire.
Yenice Forests - Karabük
Karabük, which is a center of attraction for both domestic and foreign tourists with its historic houses in Safranbolu, draws attention for camping with its Yenice Forests. Known as Green Yenice, a name under which festivals are also held, Yenice dazzles not only with its greenery but also with its trees that turn red in the autumn.
Erikli Plateau - Yalova
Located approximately an hour and a half from Istanbul, Yalova is one of the alternative escape routes for those overwhelmed by the chaos of the city on weekends. In the plateau, which features natural habitats such as the city forest, the Twin Waterfalls (Çifte Şelale), Little Bottomless Lake (Küçük Dipsiz Göl), and Big Bottomless Lake (Büyük Dipsiz Göl), visitors can enjoy either a day trip for a picnic or go camping.
Borabay Lake - Amasya
Known as the city of princes, Amasya attracts attention not only for its cultural tourism but also for its natural beauty. Borabay Lake, also known as Aynalı Göl (Mirror Lake), offers camping opportunities. In addition to camping, the nature park provides log cabin accommodations for visitors, and it is possible to take a boat tour on the lake or make use of the grocery store and restaurant. You can go for a walk around the lake accompanied by the sounds of birds, but fishing and swimming are prohibited.
Kilimli Lake-Bursa
This natural wonder camping area is located in the Osmangazi district of Bursa. There is a small fountain by the lake where you can meet your water needs. The roads are closed in winter, but it is an ideal route for autumn. You must use a private vehicle for transportation.
