Expert issues warning with specific date! Snowfall is beginning

Air temperatures have begun to drop, starting from the northern and western parts of the country. The cold air is expected to remain effective until the beginning of next week, accompanied by strong northerly winds.

With the drop in temperature and precipitation, the first snowfall of the season will be seen in the high-altitude areas and plateaus of the Black Sea region, as well as the high-altitude areas of the northeast of Eastern Anatolia.

According to the forecast updated by the General Directorate of Meteorology, air temperatures have suddenly dropped by 12 degrees.

Meteorology has issued a yellow-coded warning for Ağrı, Artvin, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Giresun, Muş, Rize, Siirt, Trabzon, Şanlıurfa, Van, Batman, and Iğdır.

The cold air is expected to be effective for the next 3 days. Forecasts for the first snowfall of the season have arrived from meteorology experts.

WHERE WILL IT SNOW?

Meteorology Expert Dilek Çalışkan stated, "Snow is expected in Kartalkaya. It will also snow in villages with an altitude above 1,300 meters in the Black Sea region. There may be brief snowfall in Uludağ as well. There are downpours in the Erzurum-Kars area and across Eastern Anatolia. It will turn to snow on Friday and Saturday. Ankara and Central Anatolia will also cool down. The perceived temperature will be at most 13-14 degrees."

PROF. DR. ORHAN ŞEN GIVES A DATE FOR SNOWFALL

Meteorology Expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen also evaluated the weather conditions, stating that temperatures will fall below seasonal norms and announced the provinces where snowfall is expected.

Şen stated, "Air temperatures will decrease significantly and fall below the average across the country. Today and over the weekend, the northern, inner, and eastern regions will experience winter conditions. Temperatures will drop noticeably. Snowfall will begin tonight in the high-altitude areas of Sivas, Erzincan, Erzurum, Kars, Ardahan, Ağrı, and the Central and Eastern Black Sea region."
