Fatih Altaylı's scathing statement on lieutenants: 'Those who applauded FETÖ yesterday are dishonorable, disgraceful, and without dignity...'

Journalist Fatih Altaylı made striking remarks regarding the sword-oath crisis in the TSK.

Altaylı responded to the question, "Will the trolls get what they want?" regarding the dismissal request, particularly for Lieutenant Ebru Eroğlu, as follows:

'THEY ARE NOT INVITING THE MEDIA'

I hope the trolls do not get what they want. I mean, there is something that has escaped notice, let me mention that too; there are accusations about notifying the media and so on. Yet, on the contrary, as the lawyers have also stated and as we have explained here before, these young lieutenant siblings wanted to clear the ceremony area, saying, 'Go away, we are going to do something among ourselves.' They are not inviting the media or anything; on the contrary, forget the media, they are even trying to move their own parents away from the ceremony area in the spectator stands. 

'THEY ARE TRYING TO DESIGN THE TSK'

However, there is no formal investigation here. There is a TSK that has been terrorized. A group that terrorizes the TSK with accusations of coup-plotting and this and that is trying to design the Armed Forces in a sense, just as they did in the past when they were in cooperation with FETÖ. 

'THE TSK HAS BEEN SO INTIMIDATED...'

A number of journalists—or rather, let me not call them journalists, but trolls in the guise of journalists—who draw parallels with the coup attempts made by soldiers who entered the army by stealing exam questions in the past, are manipulating the Turkish Armed Forces in a similar way today. And it is painful that the Turkish Armed Forces have been so intimidated, so frightened, and made so vulnerable to these manipulations that they cannot say anything, and as a result of the trolls' attack, they are accepting the dismissal of a brilliant, highly successful group of lieutenants from the army. 

'WILL YOU DISMISS THESE LIEUTENANTS BECAUSE THOSE WHO APPLAUDED FETÖ YESTERDAY WANTED IT?'

This shame is actually the TSK's shame, my brother. What is going on? Are you going to dismiss these lieutenants from the army just because 10 scoundrels, those dishonorable, shameless, undignified, vile people who applauded FETÖ yesterday, wanted it?

Look, what I am saying is, if there is something wrong, if you say a soldier should not do this, you give a reprimand, you give something else. Is the heaviest penalty the only option? Well, for example, if these soldiers committed a more serious crime, what would you do? You would dismiss them from there too. So, should they be dismissed immediately for the simplest thing? No, my brother, those troll scoundrels should be dismissed from the media and from their trolling. 

'IT WILL BE WRITTEN AS A BLACK MARK ON THEIR FOREHEADS'

They should be the ones dismissed, and those who pay them should be the ones fired. I am saying it very clearly once again: if these lieutenants are dismissed, it will be written as a black mark on the foreheads of those who made and ordered this decision.

It will be written on their foreheads that we are a command group that dismisses young lieutenants for flimsy reasons; let them know that.

Give them a reprimand, my brother, give them a reprimand and close the matter.
