Filming has begun for the new Netflix movie "Lefter: A Legend's Story."

The film, directed by Can Ulkay, stars Erdem Kaynarca, Deniz Işın, Aslıhan Malbora, Aslıhan Gürbüz, and Halit Ergenç.

The film, adapted from the life story of Lefter Küçükandonyadis, who is considered one of the legendary names of football, is being co-produced by TAFF Pictures and Ark Pictures.

The film's screenplay was written by Ayşe İlker Turgut.

The film will recount the story of Lefter Küçükandonyadis, from his beginnings on Büyükada to his worldwide fame and the struggles he faced on his path to becoming a legend.

The film features a cast including Edip Tepeli, Bora Akkaş, Onur Durmaz, Aytaç Şaşmaz, Erdem Şanlı, Mert Denizmen, Engin Alkan, Hamdi Alkan, Uğur Uzunel, Doğukan Polat, Taner Barlas, Yıldız Kültür, and İpek Bilgin in the leading roles.

The plot of the film is as follows:

Born on Büyükada and raised within the multicultural fabric of the Princes' Islands, Lefter decides to become a football player, defying the strict wishes of his father, Hristo. However, he will have to face many struggles on his journey to success. The experiences he goes through regarding his family, love, and identity turn Lefter into a world-renowned legend.
