Grieving family of 'Newborn Gang' victim speaks out! 'Fırat Sarı's signature...'
The Öztürk family was devastated by the loss of one of the twins they had been expecting following IVF treatment. This incident, which took place at the Private Reyap Hospital in Esenyurt, Istanbul, has come to light as the "Newborn Gang Scandal," and the family has shared the pain they endured.
The Öztürk family experienced the shock of losing one of the twins they had been expecting following IVF treatment.
This death, which occurred at the private Reyap Hospital in Esenyurt, Istanbul, was reported to the public as the "Newborn Gang Scandal" and became just one example of the gang's activities that led to the deaths of many infants.
In a process that began in 2019, the Öztürk family learned they were going to have twins through IVF treatment. There were no issues during the pregnancy, and the mother gave birth healthily.
Following the birth on April 10, 2019, the babies were taken from the delivery room and placed in incubators. The family was informed that this was done as a "precautionary measure" and that the babies were in good health.
However, during this process, the baby girl was discharged from intensive care after 11 days, while the other baby remained in the hospital.
Throughout their son's treatment, the family received various explanations from the doctors. The head of intensive care, Dr. Fırat Sarı, stated that there might be an issue with the baby's lungs and that he was experiencing difficulty breathing.
According to BirGün, Ozan Öztürk said, "We were told there were no problems in any of the tests done during the pregnancy, and after the birth, the doctors stated our babies were fine. However, our son was kept in intensive care, and just when we thought he was getting better and would be discharged, they told us his condition had suddenly worsened."
On the 24th day, the family was called to the hospital by a phone call and informed that the baby's condition was critical. Öztürk said, "When we saw our son a few days earlier, there appeared to be no problems. However, that night we received the news of our baby's death. Dr. Fırat Sarı's signature was on the death certificate, but he was not at the hospital that day."
Following this incident, the family moved from Esenyurt, Istanbul, to Kocaeli due to the trauma they experienced.
Ozan Öztürk stated, "We had always accepted our baby's death as a natural process, until last week," noting that new developments that caused them to re-examine the process prompted them to take action.
Following this incident, the Öztürk family has also made contact with other families in similar situations.
It has been learned that following the news regarding the newborn scandal, many families have joined the legal process and are struggling with similar suspicions.
