It has emerged that the findings indicating the presence of pork in samples belonging to Köfteci Yusuf, as a result of inspections by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, were made during last February and March.
According to a document obtained by Cengiz Anıl Bölükbaş from T24, both separate reports found that while no "cloven-hoofed/winged" samples were detected, pork was identified. It remains unclear whether any objections were filed regarding the reports dated February 27 and March 7, or if there is a court order preventing the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry from disclosing the name of the company.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry recently published a list of adulterated and misbranded food products. Following the release of the list, it was announced that pork was found in the products of a catering company in Düzce. The products of some well-known pastry shops also came to the agenda with similar allegations. It was revealed that poultry meat and gizzards were mixed into these products.
Most recently, a debate has emerged on social media regarding the presence of pork in the products of a famous meatball chain. Numerous journalists have made posts implying that this company is Köfteci Yusuf. According to the allegations, inspections conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry detected pork in samples taken from two branches of the meatball chain named Köfteci Yusuf, but the company's name was not officially disclosed.
WAS THERE A COURT ORDER?
It has been alleged that Köfteci Yusuf took action before the ministry to prevent its name from being disclosed, by taking the matter to court to obtain a stay of execution, thereby preventing the company's name from being published on the list of imitation/adulterated products. However, no court order regarding the matter has emerged. Neither the company nor the ministry has made a statement on this issue.
DETECTED 10 MONTHS AGO
Following inspections conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, pork was detected in samples taken from Köfteci Yusuf.
In two separate inspection and analysis reports concluded on February 27 and March 7, pork was detected in samples of beef doner kebab and ready-to-eat cooked meatballs. No meat from single-hoofed animals or poultry was detected during the examinations.
The inspections were conducted by taking samples from cooked meatball and beef doner kebab. A 300-gram sample was taken from the cooked meatballs and a 400-gram sample from the beef doner kebab. According to the reports, pork was detected in both products.
