New allegations have emerged regarding the deaths of soldiers Halit Karaman and Semih Erdoğan, who died due to dehydration at the Recruit Training Regiment in İskenderun.
CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu made a horrific statement regarding the incident that led to the deaths of the two soldiers after visiting the soldiers receiving treatment at İskenderun State Hospital.
During his visit, Bağcıoğlu detailed the chain of events that led to the soldiers' deaths. Bağcıoğlu stated, "Two or three soldiers deserted the unit. Two were caught, and the master sergeant kept the first platoon of the first battalion under the sun for four hours as a form of punishment. During this time, they were prevented from drinking water, and water restrictions were applied. Fainting began afterward."
ANOTHER POSSIBILITY
Another allegation regarding the soldiers' deaths was the possibility of poisoning.
Some sources suggested that the soldiers might have lost their lives due to poisoning in addition to dehydration.
