How much will the 12,500 TL minimum pension be? Figures for 2025 have emerged
The pension increase rates for January are eagerly awaited. The current minimum pension is 12,500 TL, but with the upcoming increases, this figure is expected to rise to 15,000 TL.
The rates of the salary increases to be applied to retirees in January have become a subject of curiosity. The lowest pension was currently set at 12,500 TL.
However, millions of retirees are waiting for this figure to be raised again. With the regulations to be made, there is an expectation of an increase that will, at least to some extent, improve purchasing power in salaries.
The lowest pension, which was increased from 10,000 TL to 12,500 TL with the raise in July, appears set to rise again in January. The raise rates to be implemented within the scope of the Medium-Term Program (OVP) are being shaped through various scenarios.
If the 6-month inflation data is taken as 13.44 percent, the base salary will rise to 14,180 TL. When annual inflation reaches 41.5 percent, salaries will see 17,687 TL.
In addition to this, if a welfare share is added, a 20 percent increase in the lowest pension is projected. In this scenario, the salary could reach 15,000 TL, and with a 25 percent increase, it could reach 15,625 TL. There is no clear decision yet. However, expectations are increasing with each passing day.
According to the report by Halk TV, base salaries will be reviewed again following the increase in retirees' pensions. A retiree with a base salary of 10,000 TL is currently receiving a payment of 12,500 TL.
If the new base salary is increased to 15,000 TL, a difference payment will be made to retirees whose base pension is low. With these regulations, salary calculations have become more complex for retirees.
