HOW MUCH IS THE 2025 PAID MILITARY SERVICE FEE?

The paid military service fee will be redetermined based on the 2025 civil servant salary increase and inflation data.

The Ministry of National Defense had previously set the paid military service fee at 217 thousand 871 Turkish Lira and 4 kuruş.

Experts predict that if the high inflation rate continues, the paid military service fee could reach 242 thousand 555 TL. However, no official statement has been made on the matter yet.

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS FOR BENEFITING FROM AND APPLYING FOR PAID MILITARY SERVICE?

1. The application requirements for paid military service are as follows;

a. Not having started active military service, regardless of age, for those who have reached military age.

b. For those who have not undergone a medical examination, having completed the health examinations required for the examination and having been declared "Fit for Military Service".

c. Having obtained the right to benefit from paid military service following the lottery or classification process and not having waived this right.

ç. For those who have been classified as draft evaders, hidden, or overdue for military service at any time from the date they reached military age until the date of application for paid military service, including that date, the requirement is to make the payment within two months from the date of application for paid military service and not to have waived paid military service before the lottery or classification.

2. The conditions for benefiting from paid military service are as follows:

a. For those who have not been classified as draft evaders, hidden, or overdue for military service at any time from the date they reached military age until the date of application for paid military service, including that date, the requirement is to pay the fee amount determined in the first paragraph of Article 9 of the Law, which is valid on the date of payment, in advance within two months from the date of application.

b. For those who have been classified as draft evaders, hidden, or overdue for military service at any time from the date they reached military age until the date of application for paid military service, including that date, the requirement is to pay the fee amount determined in the first paragraph of Article 9 of the Law, which is valid on the date of payment, plus the additional fee amount determined according to the seventh paragraph of Article 9 of the Law, in advance within two months from the date of application.

c. Being selected for paid military service as a result of the lottery or classification process.

ç. Completing one month of basic military training.

3. Those who wish to apply for paid military service;

a. Those who do not have a record of being a draft evader, hidden, or overdue for military service up to the date of application, including that date, may apply via e-Devlet or at military recruitment offices,

b. Those who have a record of being a draft evader, hidden, or overdue for military service up to the date of application, including that date, may apply at military recruitment offices in person, or through their spouse, first or second-degree legal relatives, proxies, or guardians until the end of the last working day of the year.

4. Obligors may choose the call-up and dispatch periods for the year in which they will undergo basic military training within the scope of paid military service, and may update their call-up period preference via e-Devlet or at military recruitment offices until the end of the last working day of the application year; those who have a record of being a draft evader, hidden, or overdue for military service up to the date of application may only update this at military recruitment offices.

5. Those who are not selected for paid military service as a result of the lottery, as well as those within the scope of paragraph (a) of Article 2 who do not make the payment within the two-month period, may re-apply for paid military service if they meet the application requirements in the first article. For each application, the fee amount calculated according to the Law is paid in advance, and the amount to be paid is not offset against previous payments. The fee paid by those who are not selected for paid military service as a result of the lottery is refunded to them following their application to the military recruitment offices.

6. Those who make their payments by the end of the last working day of the year in which they applied are subject to a lottery or classification process to be taken into service in the following year.

7. Those who make their payments within the year following the year of application are subject to a selection process to be taken into service in the year following the year the payment was made. They may update their call-up preferences at military recruitment offices.

HOW TO APPLY FOR PAID MILITARY SERVICE?

Applications for paid military service can be made both at military recruitment offices and via e-Devlet. The payment process begins immediately for candidates who have submitted their applications.

In accordance with Article 9 of the Recruitment Law No. 7179, those who wish to apply for paid military service;

a. Those who do not have a record of being a draft evader, hidden, or overdue for military service up to the date of application (including that date) may apply via e-Devlet or at military recruitment offices,

b. Those who have a record of being a draft evader, hidden, or overdue for military service up to the date of application (including that date) may apply at military recruitment offices;

in person, or through their spouse, first or second-degree legal relatives, proxies, or guardians until the end of the last working day of the year.
