Identity of Christmas massacre perpetrator revealed: Extradition had been requested multiple times

An attacker drove a vehicle into a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg, causing terror. The vehicle, which sped through the crowd, resulted in the deaths of 5 people and left 40 others seriously injured.

While the attacker's identity remained uncertain for a long time following the incident, details have become clear with official statements. It was learned that the attacker is 50-year-old Saudi Arabian citizen Talib Al-Abdulmohsen.

LIVING IN GERMANY SINCE 2006

The German public broadcaster MDR reported that the attacker had been living in Germany since 2006 and working as a doctor in Bernburg. It was stated that Al-Abdulmohsen, who is a psychiatry specialist, had a background of being anti-Islamist and a proponent of Zionism.

SAUDI ARABIA'S REQUEST REJECTED

It emerged that Talib Al-Abdulmohsen had come to Germany from Saudi Arabia seeking asylum and that there was an arrest warrant for him in his home country for various crimes. Despite the extradition request from Saudi authorities, it was learned that Germany rejected the request on the grounds of human rights and freedom of expression.
