İnan Kıraç at the Council of Forensic Medicine: Will the marriage of İnan Kıraç and Emine Alangoya end?

Following the marriage of 87-year-old businessman İnan Kıraç to 75-year-old Emine Alangoya on December 24, a legal process was initiated by his daughter İpek Kıraç for the annulment of the marriage.

In the application made to the Istanbul Anatolian 18th Family Court, it was alleged that İnan Kıraç was not of sound mind, and a request for guardianship was made to protect her father.

While the court set March 12 for the guardianship case, it was decided that Kıraç should be examined at the Council of Forensic Medicine during this process.

CONFLICTING REPORTS REGARDING MENTAL FACULTIES

It was learned that İnan Kıraç had obtained a report from Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine stating that he was "of sound mind" and that he had performed the marriage ceremony at the Büyükçekmece Municipality with this report. However, the process took on a new dimension with his referral to the Council of Forensic Medicine by the court.

Kıraç cited an excuse for the first summons issued by the Council of Forensic Medicine. In the petition submitted to the court, it was stated that he did not attend the committee examination on the grounds that he would attend the General Assembly meeting of Kıraça Holding.

REPORT EXPECTED FROM FORENSIC MEDICINE

During the ongoing controversy, İnan Kıraç went to the Council of Forensic Medicine in the morning and was examined by a psychiatry committee. Following the examination, a report is expected to be prepared by the Council of Forensic Medicine.

On the other hand, it was stated that Emine Alangoya had been married three times before and had worked at Koç Holding. It is known that İnan Kıraç was married to Suna Kıraç, the daughter of Vehbi Koç, and that the couple adopted İpek Kıraç from the Child Protection Agency. The outcome of the forensic report and the decision to be made by the court are awaited with curiosity.
