Television channels generally prefer not to air new episodes of their productions during holiday breaks. This is because viewership ratings for television channels drop during holiday periods. This, in turn, affects the advertising revenues of the channels. Anticipating a decline in advertising revenue, channel executives choose not to broadcast new episodes of their shows.
