Look what we've been eating instead of kebab: Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry publishes the list

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has updated and shared with the public the list exposing scandals involving imitation and adulteration in the food sector.

In the new list published under the headings "Foods Subject to Imitation or Adulteration" and "Foods Endangering Health," the Ministry issued serious warnings regarding kebab shops that are frequently preferred by citizens.

The published list revealed that some kebab businesses in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir were using equine meat, poultry, and offal instead of red meat. This situation has sparked significant backlash, especially among citizens who trusted the quality of these kebab shops.

Ministry officials emphasized that citizens should be cautious regarding these businesses that jeopardize food safety, while stating that inspections will be further tightened. The list also included information on imitation and adulteration in many items ranging from olive oils to cheeses, and meatballs to other food products.

Consumers stated that they can make more informed food choices by accessing this list published by the Ministry on the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
