Mehmet Ağar explains that table: 'I know the reason for the dismissal'

Former Interior Minister Mehmet Ağar made statements regarding the comments made following the photo taken at a dinner where he met with members of the judiciary in Uludağ.

He made a notable comment regarding the removal of Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz, who was present at the dinner and brought the photo to the public agenda. Ağar stated that he knows the reason for the Chief Public Prosecutor's removal but refrained from disclosing this information.

Mehmet Ağar explained the details of the dinner where he met with members of the judiciary.

Ağar said that the dinner was held at the Grand Yazıcı Hotel in Uludağ and that the hotel's owner, Hayri Yazıcı, had gathered his friends to celebrate his recovery after a 9-month period of intubation treatment.

Ağar said, "It was a celebratory dinner. Are state matters discussed at such a crowded table? It was a large table. We didn't even get to speak with some of them."

Following the photo taken at the dinner, the appointment of Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz to the Court of Cassation had caused a great stir in public opinion.

Speaking to Seyhan Avşar, Ağar responded to the question, "The Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor was removed from office because of the photo. What do you think?" Ağar replied, "The Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor was not removed because of that photo. I know the reason for his removal, but it would not be appropriate for me to disclose it."

Regarding the discussions about the photo, Mehmet Ağar stated that it would not be possible for state matters to be discussed at a dinner where he met with members of the judiciary.

Ağar said, regarding the criticisms focused on the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's removal after the photo in question became a topic of discussion on social media, "There are facts that I know, but it is not appropriate to disclose them."
