The electronic voting system was explicitly requested by the MHP, a partner in the People's Alliance, during the last local elections. Sinan Burhan, known for his proximity to the government, shared the statement made to him by YSK Chairman Ahmet Yener regarding the 'electronic voting' system on the program 'Taksim Meydanı' with Gürkan Hacır, broadcast on TV 100.

Sinan Burhan conveyed that Yener said, "We have completed all our preparations regarding the electronic voting system. The decision lies with the Turkish Grand National Assembly."

In his statement, Sinan Burhan included the following remarks:

"It is a historic event in the history of the Turkish electoral system. We spoke with Mr. Ahmet Yener. In his speech, Mr. Ahmet Yener says, 'We have examined the elections in Russia and Azerbaijan. We have examined the American elections. Now, change, development, and technology are being used at the highest level in the world. We are also working with Ankara University. We have completed all our preparations regarding the electronic voting system. The decision is with the Turkish Grand National Assembly.'"

Regarding the preparations made, Burhan said, "The infrastructure is ready; they have completed the work with Ankara University and scientists. Technologically, support has been received from both TÜBİTAK and informatics agencies. R&D work is currently being carried out at Ankara University."

Upon this, MHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Legal and Election Affairs Feti Yıldız had called for, "To put an end to all these debates, it is essential to switch to an electronic voting system. The legal regulation must be made without delay."
