Microsoft software licenses cracked, lifetime activation

Massgrave, a hacker community, has shared that they can permanently activate nearly all versions of Windows and Office, from Windows Vista to Windows 11, through a vulnerability they discovered.

According to a report by Erkan Calp from DonanımHaber, the hackers stated that they have successfully bypassed almost the entire protection scheme that forms the basis of the original licensing model for Windows and Office. This new cracking method, described as highly effective, is expected to be released to the public in the coming months.

It is also reported that the attack could enable licenses tied to the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, allowing Windows 10 users to access free security patches after the official end-of-support date in October 2025. This new method is presented as both effective and easy, as it does not require third-party file downloads or modifications to system files.

The MAS (Microsoft Activation Scripts) project currently provides various tools designed to activate non-genuine copies of modern Windows and Office versions.

Although several developers have contributed to improving this built-in piracy technology, details regarding the new method remain scarce. On Reddit, the hackers provided a partial explanation, stating that the method is still under development and not yet complete.

Workarounds and hacks have existed for a long time. The most popular one is the PowerShell command used to activate Windows 8 or later versions, or Office. The creators of the solution now claim they have found ways to extend this to more Windows and Office products.
