As millions of minimum wage earners wait for July, 'September' claim emerges for mid-year raise: Raise rate also revealed

As the expectations of millions of minimum wage earners for a mid-year raise in July begin to fade, SGK Chief Specialist İsa Karakaş, speaking to TGRT Haber, provided a date and a figure for a potential mid-year increase for minimum wage workers.

Social Security Institution (SGK) Chief Specialist İsa Karakaş stated that the raise will be implemented in September.

Karakaş also announced that the expected raise amount for the minimum wage is 4 thousand TL.

Karakaş stated the following regarding the matter:

"The planned raise will be a significant support for citizens living on minimum wage against the high cost of living. Minimum wage earners struggling to make ends meet are being negatively affected by price increases in food, rent, and other basic needs. The raise planned for minimum wage earners who are in a difficult situation will provide great economic relief."
