While scholarship and loan increases hold an important place in students' educational lives, the regulations to be made in the new year and government statements are being followed closely.

HOW MUCH WILL THE 2025 KYK SCHOLARSHIP AND LOAN AMOUNT BE?

According to the Ministry of Youth and Sports' 2025 budget studies, scholarship and loan payments, which were 2,000 TL per month in 2024, are projected to be between 2,500 and 2,600 TL with an increase of approximately 30%.

This increase aims to strengthen the financial support for students.

WHAT IS THE OPPOSITION'S DEMAND?

While discussions on the subject continue in the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Committee, opposition parties have proposed increasing KYK scholarships and loans to the 5,000 TL level.

However, this proposal was not accepted, and evaluations were made within the framework of the current increase rate.

STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTER

Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak stated that the increase in scholarship and loan payments continues and that detailed work on this matter is ongoing.

The Minister emphasized that 630 thousand students currently benefit from scholarships, while 900 thousand students benefit from loan support.

He also announced that since November 3, 2022, when indexation and late interest on loan repayments were abolished, 30 billion 478 million TL of debt has been written off.
