Miss Turkey winner İdil Bilgen makes an appearance

APPOINTED TO BİNGÖL

İdil Bilgen, a recent graduate of Koç University Faculty of Medicine and the winner of the Miss Turkey 2024 beauty pageant, was appointed to the Yayladere Community Health Center in the Yayladere district of Bingöl, which has a population of 2,304, during the Ministry of Health's 118th term Mandatory State Service (DHY) draw.

SHE CAN SUBMIT AN EXCUSE PETITION WITHIN TWO MONTHS

The application period for İdil Bilgen, who was expected to start her duty, has passed. It was learned that Bilgen did not make any application during this period and that she can submit an excuse petition to the Provincial Health Directorate within two months in order to be able to start her duty.

It was reported that if she does not submit an excuse petition within the specified period, she can apply for the next Mandatory State Service draw, which is held every 6 months.

While the reason why Bilgen did not start her duty continued to be a subject of curiosity, it emerged that Bilgen was in Washington D.C., the capital of the United States.

Bilgen announced in a post on her social media account that she attended the ASTRO 2024 meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).

İdil Bilgen, who had maintained her silence for a while, made a new statement on her social media account.

Bilgen used the following expressions in her post:

"Being chosen as Miss World Turkey 2024 has been a great honor and privilege for me. As someone who has just graduated from medical school and wants to specialize in radiation oncology, I dream of being able to make a difference, however humble, in the field of oncology."

Bilgen continued her words by saying, "I hope to realize this goal of mine within a broader and more effective framework with the Miss Turkey crown. I will strive to turn this platform into a useful information channel to raise awareness about health. I sincerely thank you for believing in me and supporting me! I cannot wait to do useful things for my beautiful country."

WHY DID SHE APPLY TO THE CONTEST?

Bilgen, who graduated from Koç University Faculty of Medicine, had said regarding her decision to participate in the contest: "I also have research on cancer. I already want to specialize in cancer. Therefore, I applied because I thought I could represent myself successfully on this platform in my country - which is actually a very respected platform abroad."

"A VERY MEANINGFUL, VERY IMPORTANT TITLE"

Bilgen had used the following expressions in a previous statement regarding her participation in the Miss Turkey contest:

"Honestly, I had the title of physician before I was chosen as Miss Turkey. I participated here still as a physician, and this is definitely my first title. I will carry this with pride throughout my life, throughout my profession. I think the title of Miss Turkey is also a very meaningful, very important title. I am very proud to carry it. I think combining the two is not a problem, but on the contrary, a very beautiful whole."
