New animated film from the creator of Game of Thrones: The legend of Hercules will come to life in the past!

George R.R. Martin, the creator of the Game of Thrones series, has rolled up his sleeves to adapt an award-winning novel into an animated film.

Collaborating with the Blue Spirit studio, which brought the notable Netflix production Blue Eye Samurai to life, Martin is this time bringing a work not from his own pen to the cinema.

The master author will adapt his close friend, Nebula Award-winning author Howard Waldrop’s novel "A Dozen Tough Jobs" as an animated film. The screenplay for the project, which will be produced by Martin, is being written by Joe R. Lansdale, the screenwriter of the Hap & Leonard series.

THE LEGEND OF HERCULES WILL COME TO LIFE IN THE 1920S!

Waldrop’s work offers an original interpretation of the story of Hercules, the famous hero of Ancient Greek mythology.

In this modern adaptation set in 1920s Mississippi, the character of Hercules appears as a farm worker descended from Black slaves in America.

After being released from prison, the character enters the service of a ruthless boss and must complete twelve difficult tasks to regain his freedom.

Martin, from whom Game of Thrones fans have long been awaiting news regarding new books, is once again demonstrating his productivity across different genres with this project, while also preparing to make a strong entry into the world of animation.
