New details emerge on the capture of Eylem Tok and her son Timur Cihantimur

Timur Cihantimur, the 17-year-old unlicensed driver who caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci by hitting a group on the side of the road in Kemerburgaz, Istanbul, on March 1, was taken abroad by his mother, Eylem Tok.

A red notice has been issued for Tok and his son, who fled first to Egypt and then to the USA.

THEY CHANGED 5 STATES

According to a report by Posta, Eylem Tok and Timur Cihantimur, who changed 5 states to avoid capture during the 106 days they were fugitives, first went to New York and then moved on to Washington, California, and Miami, respectively.

EIGHT SEPARATE PHONE LINES

The mother and son most recently settled in a luxury residence in Boston, Massachusetts. During the escape process, Eylem Tok used eight separate phone lines to evade police tracking. Most of these were burner-style, untraceable phones.

It has been learned that the fugitive mother and son were constantly ordering food from outside to the residence where they were staying in Boston. Eylem Tok was using a foreign name to place orders in order to avoid being recognized. They preferred a restaurant close to their home. Allegedly, a Turkish courier working at this restaurant happened to deliver the order and encountered Eylem Tok. He then reported the situation to the police.

DENIED BY THE ACI FAMILY'S LAWYER

The aforementioned claim regarding a Turkish courier was denied by Burak Erden, the lawyer for the Aci family. In a post on his social media account, Erden stated the following:

"The statement appearing in some media outlets today that Eylem Tok and her son Timur Cihantimur were caught at home following a courier tip-off does not reflect the truth. Eylem Tok was apprehended by two federal police officers who had been following her while she was about to enroll her son in the International British School of Boston."

HOME RAID CONDUCTED

Eylem Tok and her son returned home after touring the British International School of Boston, which has an annual tuition of 46 thousand dollars. Police raided the house and apprehended the mother and son.

4 SEPARATE FAKE PASSPORTS FOUND

4 separate fake passports were found in the possession of Eylem Tok and her son. Tok had 5 thousand dollars in cash with her. A search of the house also uncovered 46 thousand dollars.

EYLEM TOK'S MONEY TRAFFIC

Eylem Tok's money traffic has also been placed under scrutiny. It has been determined that the funds were transferred from a third country outside of the U.S. and Turkey. Eight armed police officers encountered no resistance at the residence and took the mother and son into custody.

“I AM A MOTHER, NOT A MURDERER”

It has been learned that Eylem Tok said at the time, “I am a mother, not a murderer. I wanted to protect my child with maternal instinct.” The mother and son will appear in court in Boston today. A decision will be made on whether they will remain in custody during the extradition process.

It has emerged that Eylem Tok held meetings with numerous lawyers in the US. Tok ultimately chose Brendan Kelley as her attorney. Kelley stated that his clients should be released, saying, "Eylem Tok has not committed a crime here. As for her son Timur, he is a US citizen, and if he has committed a crime, he should be tried in this country."

The first hearing for Tok and his son, who were apprehended in the US, will take place today. According to a report by NTV, Tok and his son will appear before a judge today. The hearing is scheduled for 18:00 (TRT).
