New development in Liam Payne death investigation: 5 people to be prosecuted in connection with the One Direction member's death

According to a report by the Associated Press, two months after Liam Payne's death, a judge in Argentina approved the case filed against five people in connection with the British singer's death on Monday.

5 PEOPLE INCLUDING HOTEL MANAGER TO STAND TRIAL

Gilda Martin, the manager of the hotel where the British singer Payne was staying, hotel employee Esteban Grassi, and Roger Nores, who was reported to be his friend, will be tried by the Argentine National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office on charges of homicide. It was stated that individuals named Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra, both of whom were noted to have worked at the hotel, will be charged with supplying drugs in relation to Payne's death. It was reported that the detention of two of the five defendants, whose names were not disclosed, has been ordered to continue.

Authorities confirmed that Payne died after 5:00 PM on October 16 at the Casa Sur hotel in the Palermo neighborhood on Costa Rica Street. An employee called the emergency line to request help for a guest who was "under the influence of drugs and alcohol, destroying some objects in the room."

PAYNE WAS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH

The autopsy included findings that Liam Payne was under the influence of drugs and was semi-conscious or unconscious at the time he fell. It was stated that Payne, who suffered 25 injuries in the tragic incident, had his death investigated as a 'suspicious death,' but that the signs indicated the musician was alone during the fall and was under the influence of some kind of substance.

Argentine authorities reported in November that 3 people had been charged in connection with Liam Payne's death, with one person who was with him accused of abandonment resulting in death and supplying drugs. Additionally, a hotel employee and another person were also charged with supplying drugs.
