New system for second-hand vehicle sales: Starts on September 27

In a statement released on the Ministry of Trade's social media account, information was provided regarding the Secure Payment System, which was developed to prevent fraud in second-hand vehicle transactions and to make these transactions more secure.

The system is being implemented in cooperation with the Notaries Union of Türkiye.

What is the Secure Payment System, and how does it work?

In an informational video released by the Ministry, the operation of the system was explained in detail. Accordingly, the following steps will be followed in the sale of second-hand vehicles:

* The seller initiates the process: The seller will initiate the secure payment process and generate a reference number so that the buyer can make the payment.

* The buyer deposits the money: Before going to the notary, the buyer will deposit the payment to the intermediary institution using this reference number.

* Sale confirmation: When the sale transaction is approved by the notary, the money held in the secure account will be instantly transferred to the seller's account.

Thanks to this new system, vehicle buying and selling transactions will be fully secured, free from the risk of fraud.

FRAUD CASES WILL COME TO AN END

The Ministry of Trade emphasizes that this practice will completely eliminate fraud cases. Security vulnerabilities previously encountered in vehicle sales transactions will be eliminated with the Secure Payment System, providing a safe environment for both the seller and the buyer.
