Oscar shock for famous composer Hans Zimmer!
World-renowned composer Hans Zimmer has been disqualified from this year's Oscar race following a decision by the Academy.
A crisis has emerged regarding Dune: Part Two, one of the most talked-about films of 2024. The film's world-renowned composer, Hans Zimmer, has been disqualified from this year's Oscar race by an Academy decision.
According to a report on NTV, Zimmer, who has been nominated for an Oscar 12 times and has won two awards, was among the favorites this year with his acclaimed work.
However, the Academy prevented Zimmer from participating in the competition, citing that the music used in Dune: Part Two bears significant similarity to the works in the first film of the series, which was released in 2021.
The decision was harshly criticized by the film's director, Denis Villeneuve. Inviting the Academy to reverse its mistake, Villeneuve stated, "I think his score was one of the best of the year. I don't use the word genius often, but Hans Zimmer is definitely one."
