Özgür Özel reminds of Bolu fire with documents: 'No news from the new committee for 1 month!'

Weeks have passed since the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, which became a grave for 78 people, 36 of whom were children. A new post has come from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who previously shared the report of the first expert committee appointed.

Stating that a new committee was appointed because the expert report prepared by the first committee pointed to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Özgür Özel shared images of the documents in which those who took part in the first committee wrote that they wanted to resign.

"While the first committee prepared the report in 3 days, there has been no news from the new committee for 1 month," said Özel, using the following expressions in his post:

"The investigation into the fire tragedy in Bolu, where we lost 78 of our lives, 36 of them children, has turned into a separate tragedy, burning hearts and consciences.

The lawless government is playing a thousand and one games to shield the real culprits from justice.

The report prepared by the Expert Committee, which was formed on the day of the fire, January 21, with the instruction and official letter of the prosecutor's office, was not accepted because it pointed to the responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism, and was declared "pirate" by the Minister of Justice himself.

Now, I am sharing with the public the official letter showing that the committee that prepared that report was appointed by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

The Expert Committee's report revealed that the main culprits were the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Bolu Special Provincial Administration, the Bolu Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, and the hotel management.

That committee upheld their personal and professional honor and stood by the truth.

The committee was asked to change the report or resign.

I am also sharing the resignation petitions prepared by each of the experts with the public.

When the report prepared by all 7 experts working day and night was not accepted, they wrote the following meaningful petitions.

Government representatives had claimed that this committee was "expanded" with new expert names. However, it turned out that a new committee was established instead of the experts who did not prepare a report as the government wanted.

While the first committee prepared the report in 3 days, there has been no news from the new committee for 1 month.

We are facing a government that has blinded itself and does not recognize justice.

Our nation will hold this mentality, which looks at the death of 78 people with a partisan eye, to account at the ballot box."
