Parents, beware! They added 'sexual performance' enhancing drugs to candies and chocolates children eat
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's list of imitation and adulteration has identified 'sildenafil' and 'tadalafil', which are banned substances used in 'sexual performance enhancing drugs'.
The list of imitation and adulterated foods announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry at the beginning of October now concerns parents.
According to a report in the pro-government newspaper Sabah, prohibited drug substances were found in a total of 17 different products.
Sildenafil and tadalafil are substances generally used in the 'treatment of impotence and sexual dysfunction' and can only be obtained with a doctor's prescription.
It is stated that when taken in high doses, they can lead to serious health problems and even death.
The prohibited substances were detected in chocolate, ginseng-infused hard candies, herbal mixed drinks, energy drinks, and various types of pastes.
Additionally, sildenafil was also found in 15-gram sachets of honey produced by a business in Küçükçekmece.
These products represent only a portion of the foods identified as being produced in major cities such as Istanbul, İzmir, Antalya, and Mersin.
SIDE EFFECTS AND DANGER OF DEATH
Sildenafil and tadalafil substances can cause serious side effects such as headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath, heartburn, and sensitivity to light.
