Pesticide danger is growing! It has been found in another fruit
The pesticide threat is growing. The European Union's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) has reported that pesticides have been detected in another fruit.
The danger of pesticides in our food is growing. According to an announcement from the European Union's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), high amounts of pesticides have been detected in pomegranates exported from Turkey to Germany.
Examinations revealed that the pomegranates contained approximately 3 times the safe limit of Acetamiprid and Azoxystrobin. Due to the high pesticide levels detected, the pomegranates have been recalled from the market in Germany.
Earlier this month, Bulgaria detected 3 different chemicals in pomegranates imported from Turkey and turned the shipment back at the border.
Pesticide use in agriculture is increasing in Turkey. Contaminated soil and chemically treated food are causing illnesses.
In the short term, this leads to acute poisoning, and in the long term, it threatens public health by turning into serious issues such as cancer, hormonal disorders, and infertility.
Children, pregnant women, and farmers are among those most affected by pesticides.
